alt.showbiz.gossip used to be an interesting group, but it is now
mostly spam and political crap.

Is there another usenet group that took its place or is there a
web-based forum of some kind where the interesting gossip is still
to be found?

I remember many of the old gang and the trailer park too. I had a lot
there. People like Judith, Barb, David M, a guy who worked as a
paramedic on movies sets and even Matt Drudge. Some of the folks were
VERY interesting. A few migrated over to alt.gossip.celebrities but
many just wandered away from Usenet altogether. I seldom participate
any more.
